K-9

Hi, everyone! Back again after a long while, but I wanted to tell you about something amazing!

Just a few days ago, my family and I went to an awesome event. There were police cars, a firetruck, a helicopter and much more! I had lots of fun at that place!

We started by walking around, mostly. My sister and I spun a little wheel that asked questions about drugs and alcohol (as this was supposed to be a movement to stop drug abuse and such) an we each got a cute little rubber duck. Silly, I know, but we liked it!

We then walked around a little more and got to pet a police dog. Then we sat in a real live SWAT truck, and I saw something in the side door that made me smile. Two tiny blue New Testament books. Then we jumped out the back and continued on.

Next came the K-9 demonstration. A guy wearing a thick protective suit stood in the middle of a grassy clearing (we were all forced to move back as the dog could go crazy) and the police sergeant ordered the dog to attack. Boy, did he! He sunk his fangs into the guy’s arm and wouldn’t let go. It was like an iron vise. It took a while for the sergeant to get the dog away from the guy, but he managed it. Then they did it a second time, and questions were asked. A guy was taking pictures of the people standing around, and yipes! We were caught on camera!

Then the most amazing thing ever! We were about to see a real live helicopter take off from only a few yards away! We stood back as the helicopter blades began to spin and then we were forced to move back farther because of how strong the wind was. (I was bitten by ants too, ugh. Ugly little things). Then the helicopter rose off the ground and began to fly! it was epic!

The best part was when it circled back around! It flew directly over us! We were really the only ones standing farther back, so it was amazing to watch it fly over it! Boy, was it loud! But it was cool! I’ve never actually seen a helicopter take off from that close before.

Anyway, hope you guys have a great rest of your day and God bless!
